Survivor has had some pretty wild final tribal councils, and with 40 whole seasons with nail-biting votes and speeches, there is a lot to choose from. Whether it came down to an excellent speech, a mind-blowing tie, or a winner so clearly chosen, each season has a riveting and crazy finale.
To throw it back to the biggest and best of them all, this list will head back through the 40 seasons and all their final moments. Before the Sole Survivor is crowned, there is definitely some drama to be had. Here are the 10 craziest final councils from the show, ranked.
10 Survivor: Borneo (Season 1)
There was a lot of hard feelings in the final tribal council of the first-ever season of the show. With Richard Hatch and Kelly Wiglesworth, the two were famously and memorably attacked by the jury as a "snake" and a "rat".
This final vote came down to some serious convincing on Richard's part and finally swayed the jury to believe in his strategy and leadership. In a close 5-4 split, this final tribal certainly made fans tune in for another 39 seasons.
9 Survivor: All Stars (Season 8)
In the first season of returning players, history was certainly made when Amber Mariano and Amber Brkich found themselves in the final two. Now a married couple, there was certainly some friendly (and not so friendly) competition at the end.
Amber gave one of the most memorable speeches from the series, and fans definitely praised her honesty and quick answers over Rob's deception. With a proposal at the reunion and a 4-3 split, this finale was certainly a roller-coaster.
8 Survivor: Cook Islands (Season 13)
This was another season that was a true nail-biter. With strategic and brilliant Yul Kwon and challenge beast Ozzy Lusth, this tribal council had three players in the mix, the third being Becky Lee.
Fans were rooting for both of these now-iconic players, and it was a head-spinning final tribal where jurors were forced to choose between two strong players. In a 5-4 win, Yul reigned victoriously.
7 Survivor: Micronesia (Season 16)
This season goes down as one of the best manipulative and strategic moves to get to the final, of course, carried out by Parvati Shallow. The chaos began when Amanda Kimmel won the final immunity and got to choose between bringing Parvati or Cirie Fields to the end.
To her demise, Parvati's strategy and social game outweighed Amanda's challenge skills. With an angry Ozzy Lusth and some romance budding, this final was outrageous and wild, and Parvati took home the win in a 5-3 split.
6 Survivor: Samoa (Season 19)
Russell Hantz might just forever be known as the biggest male villain to ever play on the show. He made his way to the final three with manipulation, immunity idol plays, and some incredible back-stabbing.
Unfortunately, and surprising to Russell, he burned far too many bridges and was lit up at the final tribal. Against Mick Trimming and Natalie White, the jurors said that Natalie's undeserving cruising was better than Russell's lying. In a 7-2 win for her, this final tribal was mind-blowing.
5 Survivor: Heroes Vs. Villains (Season 20)
This was the battle of the heroes and villains, and three villains found their way to the final three. Between Russell Hantz, Parvati Shallow, and Sandra Diaz-Twine, it was a fiery and crazy final tribal.
After Sandra threw Russell's hat in the fire, and all three of their loyalties and actions were questioned, Parvati and Sandra fought over who was the queen of Russell. After some choice words, Sandra won the vote in a 6-3 split.
4 Survivor: Cagayan (Season 28)
This was another season that all came down to who the winner of the final challenge brought to the end. After Yung "Woo" Hwang won immunity, he had to choose between Tony Vlachos and Kass McQuillen. Tony appealed to Woo's loyalty and found himself in the final.
Tony's vicious and back-stabbing game-play was questioned, but not as much as Woo's decision of taking him to the end was. Tony's strategy and fierce game won him the game in an 8-1 split.
3 Survivor: Ghost Island (Season 36)
This season was the only one in history to end with an actual tie between two players, where the third member of the final three, Laurel Johnson, had to be the deciding vote.
Domenick Abbate and Wendell Holland worked together the whole game, and while the jury sorted out who was actually the bigger player, their vote ended in a 5-5 tie. That meant that Laurel got to decide, and became one of the most iconic and mind-blowing seasons yet. Of course, Wendell Holland took home the title.
2 Survivor: Edge Of Extinction (Season 38)
The 38th season of the show involved a returning player from extinction and certainly made for a nail-biting finale with fire-making and jury speeches. After returning from the Edge, Chris gave up immunity in the final four, proving himself by making fire.
Only playing 13 days, Chris highlighted it was an incredible 13 days. With big moves and making it to the final after being voted out, he won the final vote in a 9-4-0 split against Gavin Whitson and Julie Rosenberg.
1 Survivor: Winners At War (Season 40)
The season of returning winners finally came to an end, and it's no surprise that these returning players made for a chaotic and memorable final tribal council. Surprisingly, the chaos of this final tribal was kind of that there wasn't any chaos.
Every player deserved to be there - Natalie Anderson, Michele Fitzgerald, and Tony Vlachos all played incredible and different games, and this tribal was full of wholesome praise and all of our favorite players. It was nail-biting because anybody could have taken home the crown. Of course, Tony has become the King of Survivor.
